The holiday season is generally focused on the big hitters that came out in the previous months. That means that people will likely be getting games from October and November as presents at Christmas.
But that is not completely true this year. December 2021 will see a number of high-profile games release. There’s also a huge collection of indie titles and smaller budget releases that offer a nice variety of genres for gamers of all types.

Cricket 22: The Official Game of The Ashes

Solar Ash

Solar Ash is an adventure game with heavy platforming elements. It has been developed by Heart Machine, the team behind Hyper Light Drifter. Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

Unreal Life sees the main character losing all of her memories except one. Knowing only the name Miss Sakura, she sets out on a quest to discover who this person is and why she can remember the name. As she discovers memories of her past, players will have to solve puzzles and uncover the larger mystery.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun – Aiko’s Choice

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun – Aiko’s Choice is a standalone add-on for the base game. This experience is set during the Edo period in Japan and sees players take control of Aiko as she hunts down enemies from her past with deadly assassin allies.

This Is The President is a political thriller, with the players assuming the part of a newly elected leader with a controversial and secretive past. The ultimate goal is to avoid being brought to justice for your crimes by any means necessary. If that means putting the country into chaos, then so be it.
Rune Factory 4 Special

Rune Factory 4 Special is a farming adventure game set in the vibrant and colorful world of Selphia. After being saved by a mighty dragon, the player is put in charge of the kingdom. It is up to them to look after the citizens, growing crops, killing monsters, and crafting equipment.

Breakwaters is a survival game where the player has to navigate the world by swimming between islands to explore the world and find new resources. The world continually changes according to how you interact with the water, with new lands showing up and creatures appearing. KEO

Those who like vehicular combat games are in luck, as KEO is a team-based title set in a post-apocalyptic world. The aim of the game is to dominate the battlefield using sci-fi-inspired remote-controlled cars. They can be outfitted with weapons and gadgets to help in combat, with each car’s loadout being vitally important to surviving.
Among Us

One of the hit games of 2020 is finally coming to PlayStation and Xbox in December. Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach is a high-definition experience for PlayStation and PC that is coming in December. Taking place in a large mall, players will have to use stealth to keep moving through the building while avoiding being detected by the frightening animatronics.
The Gunk

The Gunk is an action-adventure game from image & Form. With a story-driven single-player campaign, the third-person game puts players into the role of a scavenger named Rani as she explores an alien planet. She soon discovers a parasitic life form threatens the entire ecosystem and must fight back against the gunk to save the planet.
