The publisher Codemasters (known for games like Dirt, F1, and Grid) may be sold to Take-Two Games (parent company of both 2K and Rockstar). Video Game Chronicles reports Take-Two has made a non-binding offer to purchase the company.
If Take-Two makes their bid official, Codemasters will unanimously recommend to their shareholders to accept the offer.
Take-Two is very optimistic about combining the creative forces of these two companies. In a statement to VGC, Take-Two said that “the combination of Take-Two and Codemasters would bring together two world-class interactive entertainment portfolios, with a highly complementary fit between 2K and Codemasters in the racing genre.”
These are bold claims. But with the next generation of consoles here, it only makes sense for these titans of driving games to take the genre to the next level.
