Square Enix has published the official cover design for Final Fantasy VII Remake. It is indicated on the cover that the game will be a temporary timed exclusive for PlayStation 4 until March 3, 2021.
This means that Final Fantasy VII Remake is likely to be ported to other platforms after one year of exclusivity on the PS4. There are no additional details yet, but we may get some information at The Game Awards 2019.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will retell the iconic 1997 JRPG. Unlike the original, the remake will come out in parts. The first part will be released on March 3, 2020 and will tell about the beginning of the adventures of Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aeris, and other familiar characters. It will have completely new graphics and a redesigned combat system, and the original plot along with the amount of side quests will be significantly expanded.
