Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Sega’s in-house development team that primarily works on the Yakuza series, has announced that it is working on a sequel to Judgment called Lost Judgment.
The original 2018 PlayStation 4 game Judgment was a spin-off of the Yakuza franchise. It saw detective Takayuki Yagami investigate a gruesome spate of killings where the victims had their eyes removed.
Announced during the Judgment Day livestream today, the sequel Lost Judgment looks to continue the same action-based gameplay from the original.
According to writer and series director Toshihiro Nagoshi, Lost Judgment will expand on Yagami’s story and see him focusing on a new murder. This will involve going undercover at a local high school, allowing the developers to explore more storytelling themes.
Players will also get access to new combat styles and gameplay elements, such as fresh stealth and traversal options.
Lost Judgment is set to release worldwide on September 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
