Square Enix has confirmed that the Black Panther – War for Wakanda expansion for Marvel’s Avengers is coming out on August 17, which will bring the royal hero to the game as a playable character.
In addition to bringing Black Panther to Marvel’s Avengers, the expansion will also introduce two new villains and a range of additional content. This includes fresh enemies, an extra environment, and new Drop Zone and Threat Sector multiplayer missions.
Square Enix will also host a War Table stream on August 16 at at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET to detail the War for Wakanda update ahead of its release.
Starting today through Aug. 1, Marvel’s Avengers is offering an All-Access weekend, meaning players can try out the game for free and carry over any progression if they later buy it. This coincides with a promotion that awards extra XP and slashed prices in the in-game store.
Marvel’s Avengers is currently available at a discount of 40% its normal price. Several limited-time special promotions are available this weekend, including a 400% bonus to experience gained, a 50%-off sale in the in-game Marketplace, and the return of the Tachyon Anomaly event.
