The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has set a new record for the number of people who play it via Steam simultaneously. In the last 24 hours, The Witcher 3 reached 103,329 concurrent players, according to Steam Charts. This is the best result since the game was released in 2015. The nearest result was reached at launch with 92,268 players.
It’s pretty obvious that such amazing results were possible due to Netflix’s The Witcher series, which premiered on December 20. The TV show received mostly mixed reviews from critics but fans accepted it warmly.
So here’s a funny fact: CD Projekt RED’s game inspired Netflix to create a show and now this show is inspiring people to buy and play the game again! Now we can definitely say that the decade was defined by TW3:WH.
The Witcher game series is a non-canonical sequel to the famous fantasy book series written by Andrzej Sapkowski. It follows the story of Geralt, one of the last witchers — incredibly rare and dangerous monster hunters — who is looking for his place in a grim and cruel fantasy world.
