Every Fortnite player knows that developers can hardly pass up a major holiday without launching a special event. And with Valentine’s Day around the corner, the Hearts Wild event is now live.
What’s this event all about? Players will be able to engage in papercraft, take on some intense Creator Challenges, and even test their mettle in a new tournament. And if you have your eyes on the Lovely Outfit, you may be able to earn it before it lands in the Item Shop.
The Hearts Wild Cup event goes live on Tuesday, February 9. You must play with a Duos partner and have your two-factor authentication enabled, and both players will need to be level 30 or higher. With these criteria met, all you have to do is prove yourselves the best players in each region. And every region’s pair of winners will walk away with the Lovely Outfit as well as Heartblast Back Bling.
There will also be prizes for players who complete some of the new Creator Challenges on offer. According to the event website, these are the prizes players can earn:
First place: Breathless Blades Pickaxe, Shufflly Shapes Wrap, Reel Love Spray, Perfect Match Emoticon, & Hearts Wild Team Battles Banner
Second place: Shufflly Shapes Wrap, Reel Love Spray, Perfect Match Emoticon, & Hearts Wild Team Battles Banner
Third place: Reel Love Spray, Perfect Match Emoticon, & Hearts Wild Team Battles Banner
Fourth place: Perfect Match Emoticon & Hearts Wild Team Battles Banner
Fifth place: Hearts Wild Team Battles Banner
The event will also be bringing back Fortnite’s papercraft, allowing creative players to download certain materials to create an awesome (and budget-friendly) Valentine’s-themed cosplay of their favorite characters from the game.
If you enjoy completing quests, then you’re going to enjoy this Hearts Wild event. New quests go live on February 11, and they revolve around your various attempts to get a Valentine’s Day date for the lonely Fishstick. Whether you stick around for the rewards or just the funny resolution to Fishstick’s loneliness, we think this event will be one to remember.
Even if you’re not a very competitive player, there are many things to look forward to. For example, the Welcome Hub is getting a romantic makeover, and plenty of new and returning outfits will be available for purchase in the Item Shop.
