Nintendo has released to the public a text version of its briefing for corporate executives. In addition to including the philosophy and goals of the company, the document turned out to be full of interesting facts, news and hints on the future plans of the ‘Big N.’
For example, as it turns out, the number of Nintendo Switch Online subscribers is more than 26 million users. The amount jumped with every new big release, such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Sword and Shield and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Another interesting revelation in the briefing is a GC-animated Super Mario movie is in the works from Illumination (Minions). The premiere is scheduled for 2022 and production is moving ahead smoothly.
One of the most important things is that Nintendo will continue to invest in the production of new consoles. Although the company did not give any specifics about the new hardware (even the premiere date is listed as “20XX”), the CEO emphasized an important detail — Switch is now only in the middle of its life cycle.
Finally, the next Nintendo Direct will be held on September 17 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET.
