According to Bloomberg, the next announcement regarding PlayStation 5 from Sony is “tentatively scheduled” for August. Perhaps we will learn the price and release date of the new console this month.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Macquarie Capital analyst Damian Thong said that he expects the PlayStation 5 with disk drive will cost $500, with the diskless version costing $400. Also, he predicts that by the end of March 2021 Sony will sell more than six million PS5 consoles.
Earlier, Sony announced a 40-minute State of Play to be held this Thursday, August 6. However, on their blog they already confirmed there won’t be any big PS5 announcements at this State of Play.
“Just to be super clear — there will be no PlayStation Studios updates in Thursday’s episode. There won’t be any updates around hardware, business, preorders, or dates either,” Sony wrote.
