Ariana Grande Is the Headliner for the Fortnite Rift Tour

August 2, 2021

After weeks of leaks and rumors, Epic has confirmed that Ariana Grande will be the headliner for Fortnite’s Rift Tour, which begins Friday, August 6.

What is the Rift Tour? If you don’t already know, this is an interactive concert taking place entirely within the world of Fortnite. Players will have multiple opportunities to join the event, and hardcore Fortnite gamers can look forward to some in-game rewards (including possibly getting some free cosmetics) for participating in the concert.

As for Ariana Grande, we know she will be the headliner thanks to a French Fortnite social channel revealing her in-game skin. But the possibility of Grande’s appearance in an in-game concert was initially hinted at in legal documents from when Epic and Apple began their major legal battle. That same document suggested we will eventually see an NBA crossover complete with a LeBron James skin.

Between the legal documents and leaks on Reddit, Grande’s appearance was already spoiled for many players, causing Epic to confirm her role in the Rift Tour earlier than anticipated. But there will be more surprises for players to discover, especially those who play in the second wave of Rift Tour Quests.

Are you a member of the Fortnite Crew? If so, you can grab some cool cosmetics just for logging into the game between August 5 and August 9. The cool extras available include a Rift Tour-themed Banner, a Skye up High Loading Screen, and our personal favorite: a Rainbow Cloudcruiser.

Ariana Grande’s performance is going to be pre-recorded instead of live. While that may be disappointing to some fans, it means you will have multiple chances to catch her show. There are five different showings between August 6 and August 8, and we have the full schedule below:

  • Show 1 – Friday, August 6 at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET
  • Show 2 – Saturday, August 7 at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET
  • Show 3 – Sunday, August 8 at 9 p.m. PT / 12 a.m. ET
  • Show 4 – Sunday, August 8 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET
  • Show 5 – Sunday, August 8 at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET

It may be worth tuning in just for the surprises. Some leaks suggest we may see other musicians perform, including Marshmello, who made history with Fortnite’s first live musical event back in 2019.

Things kick off this Friday. Will you be logging in to check out the show? Let us know in the comments!
