This week, Twitter users noticed that the physical edition of Control Ultimate Edition for Xbox requires an internet connection.
Control Ultimate Edition contains the main game, all additional content and two story DLC. The size is more than 50 GB. So, the developers weren’t able to fit everything onto one disc for Xbox. The game requires a one-time internet connection in order to download all the remaining parts.
“Once you have downloaded the game, rest assured you do not have to be online to play!” publisher 505 Games explains.
Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 physical game edition fits everything onto one disk just fine, “due to compression and other variables.”
Recall that Control: Ultimate Edition is already available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. You will be able to upgrade your version of Control to next-gen for free only if you have the Ultimate Edition.
