Epic Games has announced the establishment of a publishing branch called Epic Games Publishing. The first partners of the company will be Remedy (Max Payne, Alan Wake, Control), genDESIGN (Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian) and Playdead (Limbo and Inside).
The good news is that Epic Games Publishing “aims to have the most developer-friendly terms in the industry” right from the beginning. They offer full creative freedom and ownership, fully funded projects and 50/50 profit sharing.
Earlier, Remedy announced that they have signed publishing agreements with a major publisher for the company’s next two unannounced video games. These two games will be set in the same franchise. One is a big AAA game which is already in pre-production and the second one is a smaller-scale project. More details to come as they are announced.
