EA has revealed that FIFA 22, the latest entry in its long-running soccer franchise, will launch worldwide on Oct. 1. The game will also feature a brand new animation system known as Hypermotion.
FIFA 22 will be available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a premiere version coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a premium price tag of $70.
However, the next-gen version of the game will also feature the Hypermotion animation system, which is not available on older consoles. The technology uses motion sensor data captured from 22 professional footballers and a machine learning algorithm to create animations in real-time.
The publisher also announced that French star Kylian Mbappe will be the cover athlete for FIFA 22. He currently plays for Paris-based side PSG and was an important member of the France national side during the recent Euro 2020 tournament.
