The Gamescom 2021 Xbox game stream premiered today. And we’ve got the trailer roundup of all the upcoming Xbox titles you can look forward to playing!
Dying Light 2: Stay Human
The preview showed a mixture of platforming and action combat, with our protagonist dealing with both shambling zombies and humans who have turned the post-apocalypse (what the devs call “the modern Dark Ages”) into their own personal playground. This game launches on September 11.
Microsoft Flight Simulator
We got a better look at the Xbox Series X|S port of this famous flight sim. This included a discussion and a quick sneak preview of new content (the Reno Air Race expansion) coming out this fall.
Humble Games’ indie titles coming to Xbox Game Pass day one
We got a quick preview of many upcoming indie games from Humble Games that will be launching on the Xbox Game Pass on day one. This includes Archvale, Next Space Rebels, Midnight Fight Express, Dodgeball Academia, Bushiden, Flynn: Son of Crimson, Unpacking, Signalis, Unsighted, and Chinatown Detective Agency.
Into the Pit
The show previewed Into the Pit, a retro-themed roguelike that might help you scratch that itch after you beat Hades. This spooky game is coming out on October 19 and will be available on Game Pass on day one.
Age of Empires IV
The showcase went into how the Age of Empires IV dev team conducted real-world research to make things like trebuchets as realistic as possible. This next sequel in the hit franchise is coming on October 28 for PC.
Xbox Cloud Gaming
There was a brief preview of the Xbox Cloud gaming service and a reminder that this service is available today on phones, tablets, and Windows 10 PCs. Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for Holiday 2021.
Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Nation
Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Detonation DLC is coming out on October 5. And like many other games on this list, you can play it on day one via Game Pass.
Sea of Thieves
The showcase introduced a new event called Making Meyhem for this game starting August 25 and running through September 7. It will give players a chance to score a new ship inspired by Borderlands.
State of Decay 2: Homecoming
This game features new weapons, maps, and plenty of new features. You can join the fight against the monsters when this title launches on September 1.
Stray Blade
We got a brief look at Stray Blade, a 2022 game featuring both a fuzzy sidekick and intense sword battles. The game also features fun gimmicks where your wins and losses help shape the world around you.
Crusader Kings III
Whether you want to win wars through martial combat or strategic weddings, this latest game in this venerable franchise has something for everyone. The game is coming to Xbox Series X (and PS5) but a release date was not announced.
Psychonauts 2
The showcase featured an extended look at this long-awaited sequel, which comes to PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on August 25. It’s included with Xbox Game Pass for PC and console.
The Gunk
There was a short and mysterious trailer for this weird little title, coming to PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in December 2021.
Forza Horizon 5
The showcase gave us an extended look at this hot title as well as an exclusive controller based on this game. In fact, this preview wrapped up the showcase, leaving many fans longing for a look at Halo Infinite and other upcoming titles that made no real appearance.
Forza Horizon 5 releases on November 9 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It will be on Game Pass day one.
The Forza Horizon 5 Limited Edition controller releases on November 11.
