It’s not the delay the game deserves, but maybe it’s the delay the game needs right now? Developer WB Games Montréal has confirmed that the next-gen Batman game Gotham Knights has been delayed to 2022.
The news comes courtesy of a tweet from the official Gotham Knights account. In the tweet, they thanked fans for their support and promised that they were taking additional time so they could “deliver the best possible experience for players.”
While it’s good they aren’t rushing this title, news of the delay is still disappointing. Fans are hyped for this game because it is an open-world game with a shocking twist: Batman is apparently dead, and it is up to his sidekicks and allies to fight various villains and save the city.
To this end, the game will let players take control of iconic characters such as Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood. And while we’re pretty confident that Batman isn’t really dead, the idea of playing as these other characters instead of the familiar Dark Knight is downright exciting.
Do you think the game will be worth the wait? And which character will you be playing as first? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
