The long-awaited Mortal Kombat movie now has a release date, with Warner Bros. confirming that the film will debut on April 16, 2021.
This will reassure fans following a year of development that has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally set to launch in January 2021, the movie studio announced several weeks ago that it was being delayed indefinitely as a result of production stopping and movie theaters closing.
However, producer Todd Garner has now stated that the video game adaptation will hit cinemas and HBO Max in April 2021. He also promised that a trailer for the upcoming film will be available in the new year.
Mortal Kombat will be released simultaneously in movie theaters and on HBO Max, following an announcement from Warner Bros. that its entire 2021 schedule will be made available on the streaming platform due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
