Apparently, work on Mortal Shell is progressing without significant hiccups. In July, Cold Symmetry studio and Playstack publishing house had beta testing of the Souls-like game. Today, the creators have announced that release will take place very soon, on August 18.
The release date was announced in a new trailer. Among other things, it shows a new long-range weapon — the ballistazooka. It shoots bolts with such force that it nails enemies to the nearest surfaces. The video also shows a new Shell called Solomon.
The Shells are a key feature of Mortal Shell. As you travel, you will be able to awake the remains of fallen soldiers and master their fighting styles. The game is not difficult to confuse with Dark Souls — we are walking through a dark fantasy world where dangerous opponents, including bosses, live.
Mortal Shell will release on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 18, 2020. The game will get to Steam in 2021.
