Dragon Age 4, the upcoming role-playing game that is currently in development at BioWare, will take place in the land of Tevinter.
Eurogamer made the discovery from BioWare: Stories and Secrets from 25 Years of Game Development, a recent book about the studio and its projects.
The book makes mention of Tevinter and shows a wide array of concept art based on the area. BioWare previously hinted that Tevinter would be the setting of a future title in the Trespasser DLC expansion for Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The region has not previously been seen in the Dragon Age series, making it a completely new setting to explore. The book also mentions bordering lands like Antiva and Nevarra, suggesting players might also visit these locations in the upcoming game.
According to Eurogamer, the book also mentions a treasure hunter’s guild known as The Lords of Fortune as well as the Mourn Watch, a group that aims to “guard Thedas from occult threats.”
There’s still not much in the way of official information about Dragon Age 4. Even the title is still not confirmed yet, but BioWare has hinted a the return of several characters from previous games. Previous trailers and concept art releases have teased the inclusion of individuals like Varric and Dorian.
