An important Final Fantasy 7 Remake announcement could be coming later this week, with a reveal possibly happening during the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Orchestra World tour performance on Saturday.
Final Fantasy Committee member and former Square Enix developer Motomu Toriyama has confirmed exciting news will be coming during the concert. Speaking in a Twitter video that is embedded below, Toriyama explains that the team will share the information about Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Toriyama explains: “There will be a special part of the concert where I’ll make an appearance and talk about a few FF7R contents to be revealed only during this event, so please tune in!”
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 13 at 5 p.m. JST / 3 a.m. EST in Toyko, with viewers able to watch the action on the internet via a live stream available through the official Final Fantasy website.
Exactly what this new content could be is not exactly clear. There has been speculation that Square Enix will be announcing an Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S version of the game or an enhanced upgrade for the PlayStation 5 port.
However, last year the publisher filed a series of trademarks to do with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, including for things called Ever Crisis and The First Soldier. This suggests extra DLC or expansions could be coming to the game in the near future.
Of course, it is also possible that the announcement could be something minor not related to additional content for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Fans will just have to wait until Saturday to find out.
