New Screenshot and Details of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Revealed

August 13, 2020

Entertainment Weekly released an article on Thursday, which revealed new details and a new screenshot for the upcoming PlayStation 5 game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

The game is described as a “shorter spin-off” rather than a “formal sequel” to Marvel’s Spider-Man. Miles will be very different from Peter Parker, thanks to new animations, movements, mechanics, and abilities such as invisibility and bioshock.

The game will take place in winter, one year after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man. It will see a war between an energy corporation and a technically-advanced criminal organization threaten to destroy Miles’ hometown of Harlem.

Unlike the film world’s MCU, Marvel Games has no plan for its games to exist in a shared universe. So, don’t expect any overlap between the Marvel’s Spider-Man games developed by Insomniac and the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers game developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal. Although Spider-Man will appear in a future DLC for Marvel’s Avengers, he will be a different version of the character.

“Currently, our plan is to keep each game set in its own Marvel universe,” Bill Rosemann, vice president and creative director of Marvel Games told EW. Their goal is to give game-makers the creative freedom to tell the stories they want to tell.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is set for release in time for Holiday 2020.
