An exclusive excerpt of the upcoming film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was revealed during the latest Fortnite event on Saturday. It happened at Risky Reels, which is Fortnite’s drive-in.
Servers were struggling from an influx of players before the event. Many players reported problems with logging in, and the start of the event was delayed for 10 minutes.
And then it started: the Millennium Falcon showed up in the sky out of nowhere but immediately faced some issues with landing. Star Destroyers of the First Order appeared right after Han Solo’s starship, and TIE fighters started a chase.
After a few minutes of battle, the Falcon finally made it to the ground and Geoff Keighley, The Game Awards host, started the presentation. J.J. Abrams joined Keighley a bit later and together they had revealed a short excerpt from the upcoming movie. We are not going to leave spoilers here, so you can watch it for yourself, starting at the 8:29 mark below.
