Hidetaka Miyazaki became something of a gaming celebrity after directing fan-favorite titles like Bloodborne and Dark Souls. His next game is Elden Ring, and fans are hoping it lives up to his usual standards.
According to Xbox head Phil Spencer, it definitely will. In an interview today with GameSpot, he said that he had “played quite a bit” of the game. Spencer went on to say that he has “played all of Miyazaki’s games over at least the last decade” and “this is clearly the most ambitious game that he’s done.”
While some players may dismiss Spencer’s thoughts (he is, after all, a professional hype man), his comments seem to come from a place of earnest passion for Miyazaki and his work. And while Elden Ring doesn’t yet have a release date, Spencer makes it sound like the title will definitely be worth the wait.
