The games industry continues to expand into other media formats — Electronic Arts and TBS are going to release a reality show based on The Sims called The Sims Spark’d.
There will be 12 contestants — well-known online personalities from The Sims community. They will have to create characters, worlds and stories and perform creative tasks inside of The Sims 4 in order to impress the judges and win a prize of $100,000.
Jury members include YouTube blogger Kelsey Impicciche from BuzzFeed Multiplayer channel, singer Tayla Parx and Maxis developer Dave Miotke. The host will be American Idol finalist Rayvon Owen.
The first episode will premiere on July 17 on TBS, and will be available on July 20 on BuzzFeed Multiplayer. There are four episodes in total and they will be released every Friday.
