In the wake of Cyberpunk 2077’s disastrous launch, Microsoft made it easier than usual for Xbox players to get a refund for their purchase of the game. But they’ll be reverting to their standard refund policy for this game in less than two weeks.
Typically, Microsoft treats all digital purchases on Xbox as final, with no real recourse if you want a refund outside of special extenuating circumstances. They made an exception for digital purchases of Cyberpunk 2077, but that is going to change on July 6.
Long story short? If you’ve been thinking about getting a refund for your Xbox copy of Cyberpunk 2077, the window is rapidly closing. And after July 6, anyone who buys a digital copy of the game from Microsoft is going to be stuck with it.
If you’re ready to snag that refund, you can learn more from Microsoft here. And if you’re on the fence about whether to keep the game or buy it for the first time, check out the most recent patch and what it fixes. But just be warned that the game is still going to underperform on the Xbox One compared to the Xbox Series X|S.
