Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was the first CoD game without a single-player campaign. However, it is possible that the story mode was planned. Potential confirmation was posted on Reddit by user ForeverDexus.
According to the author of the post, the two-minute gameplay video shows an excerpt of one of the unfinished story missions. HUD is almost identical to the Black Ops 4 multiplayer. ForeverDexus states that the developers wanted to link single and multiplayer modes.
ForeverDexus notes that he is not a source and claims to have found the footage online in an “incredibly obscure” place. According to the user, he has another video with the gameplay of the same mission but he is not going to publish it yet.
Before the release of the shooter, Treyarch said that it was not even going to create a traditional campaign, wishing to focus on multiplayer. Probably the key word here is “traditional,” as the demonstrated video may well have been taken from the failed story cooperative, which is partly confirmed by ForeverDexus’s data.
Recall that, according to rumors, Call of Duty 2020 will have a double subtitle Black Ops: Cold War. As it is easy to guess, game events will unfold in the Cold War setting.
