Every Video Game Release Date for July 2020

The last few weeks in the gaming industry have been focused on building anticipation for the next-generation of consoles. Sony and Microsoft have shown off some of the upcoming titles for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, just because we are all looking ahead doesn’t mean there are not a lot of great games coming out for current consoles.

The truth is that July looks set to be a great month for players. Although there might not be much in the way of blockbusters, there are still plenty of great titles to look forward to. Almost everyone will be able to find at least a few interesting games to check out over the next few weeks.

Biped

Release Date: July 2, 2020

Platform: Nintendo Switch

Biped is a co-op action-adventure game that is well-suited to the Nintendo Switch thanks to its emphasis on teamwork and fun visual style. Like Human: Fall Flat, which was released in 2016, it requires cooperation between players to complete each section of a map.

Marvel’s Iron Man VR 

Release Date: July 3, 2020

Platform: PlayStation VR

The long-awaited Iron Man VR game is finally arriving in July. Players will be able to use the PlayStation virtual reality headset along with the Move motion controllers to fly around in the distinctive Iron Man armor, as they battle an enemy destroying Stark facilities around the world.

The Wonderful 101: Remastered

Release Date:  July 3, 2020

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4

The Wonderful 101 is an action-adventure game from PlatinumGames that was originally released in 2013 for the Wii U. While it garnered plenty of praise from critics, the fact it released on the failing Nintendo console limited its appeal. This newly remastered version should find a wider audience. 

Castle Kong 

Release Date: July 4, 2020

Platform: Nintendo Switch

According to the developers behind Castle Kong, this upcoming arcade game has been heavily influenced by the classic title Donkey Kong. Replacing the large ape with a dastardly king, players have to reach the top of levels while avoiding obstacles to rescue the princess.

Catherine: Full Body

Release Date: July 7, 2020

Platform: Nintendo Switch

Catherine: Full Body has been described as the definitive edition of the 2011 game developed by Atlus. Remade with new content and characters to incorporate modern trends around the world, it released on most platforms last year but is now coming to the Nintendo Switch.

CrossCode

Release Date: July 9, 2020

Platforms: Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4

Originally developed for PC, CrossCode is an action RPG that was developed thanks to a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The role-playing game is now coming to home consoles, allowing players to experience the retro-inspired 2D visuals and fast-paced combat. 

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise

Release Date: July 10, 2020

Platform: Nintendo Switch

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is coming to the Nintendo Switch for the first time, following a previous wider release on other platforms. The sequel sees players take on the role of FBI agent York once again as he investigates a mysterious series of events in a New Orleans town.

F1 2020

Release Date: July 10, 2020

Platforms: Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Although the current season of Formula 1 has yet to get going thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, that hasn’t stopped Codemasters from working on the official F1 2020 game. Featuring all the circuits and drivers, the game will also allow players to manage their own F! team.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town 

Release Date: July 10, 2020

Platform: Nintendo Switch

Story of Seasons will be familiar to anyone who has played the likes of Stardew Valley (2016) or My Time At Portia (2018). Players are thrust into running their own farms as they grow crops and look after their livestock. With its cute graphics and ability to start a family, it looks to be a fun little experience. 

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris

Release Date: July 10, 2020

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Fans of quick combat and complex combos are sure to like Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. The role-playing game features real-time battles and an extensive array of characters and locations to explore. 

Death Stranding

Release Date: July 14, 2020

Platform: PC

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding released in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and quickly divided critics and fans. It nevertheless became a big hit and is now coming to PC with enhancements to take advantage of the extra hardware power on offer with many people’s setups.

Neon Abyss 

Release Date: July 14, 2020

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Neon Abyss is yet another platformer that incorporates elements of roguelikes into it. Featuring familiar run-and-gun gameplay and fast-paced action, players grow stronger with every death, making each run a different challenge. 

Rocket Arena 

Release Date: July 14, 2020

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Rocket Arena is a 3v3 shooter where every character has their own unique weapons to fight opponents. Each player gets a distinctive rocket that they will have to master to come out on top in this lightning-quick game from EA.

Bounty Battle

Anyone who enjoys the likes of Super Smash Bros. will almost certainly find plenty to like in Bounty Battle. The 2D fighter from Dark Screen Games features a wide array of heroes and characters from hit indie games, as they battle against each other to reign supreme. 

Hunting Simulator 2

Release Date: July 16, 2020

Hunting Simulator 2 is the latest game for those who want to track and kill animals without actually causing any pain to real-world creatures. With up to 33 different animals available to hunt and a large selection of guns, players have to work with their pet dog to become the ultimate hunter in different locations around the world. 

Radical Rabbit Stew

Release Date: July 16, 2020

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

As you might have guessed from the name, Radical Rabbit Stew is all about getting rid of the furry creatures so that your chefs can work in peace. Players have to bash the bunnies out of the way, while also navigating puzzles and dodging attacks from the rabbits.

Drake Hollow

Drake Hollow is a dark game that sees players helping to defend a group of creatures that resemble sentient vegetables from a variety of enemies. The main aim is to build an efficient village that will provide the population with food, water, entertainment, and protection while carefully managing your supplies. 

Ghost of Tsushima

Release Date: July 17, 2020

Platforms: PlayStation 4

Ghost of Tsushima is an eagerly anticipated game from Sucker Punch Studios that is due to release exclusively on the PlayStation 4. The action-adventure game takes place in ancient Japan as a samurai attempts to protect the land from a Mongol invasion. It will also feature an open-world along with heavy stealth gameplay elements. 

Paper Mario: The Origami King

Release Date: July 17, 2020

Paper Mario: The Origami King is the latest entry in the long-running Nintendo franchise. In this installment, King Olly has transformed Princess Peach into origami, forcing Mario to team up with a new character called Olivia to help free her. 

Into the Radius 

Release Date: July 20, 2020

Platforms: PC

Into the Radius originally launched on PC back in 2019 as a virtual reality exclusive title in early access. After many months in early access, the survival shooter is now ready for a final release. With realistic physics and visuals, players must navigate through a post-apocalyptic landscape and explore the world around them. 

Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break

Release Date: July 21, 2020

Platforms: Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break is a difficult game to describe because it combines so many different genres. It is essentially a tower defense game that also includes action sequences, with a story inspired by the humor of Monty Python. For the first time, players will also be able to craft their own levels to share online.

Röki

Release Date: July 23, 2020

Platforms: PC

Influenced by Scandanavian folklore, Röki is an adventure game that puts players in a modern-day fairy tale. Players take on the role of Tove as she explores the world and solves puzzles in a beautifully crafted experience that is topped off with a touching story. 

Destroy All Humans! Remake

Release Date: July 28, 2020

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Destroy All Humans! was something of a cult hit when it originally launched in 2005. This remake is a reboot of the series, featuring a more open world and gameplay improvements. Every aspect has been enhanced to take advantage of modern hardware, including full-motion capture cutscenes and better visuals and sound design. 

Grounded 

Release Date: July 28, 2020

Platforms: PC and Xbox One

Grounded imagines what it would be like to be shrunk down to tiny size and have to contend with the insects and bugs that now tower above you. While building shelters and crafting weapons or tools to help you survive, Grounded also changes according to how you play. Insects will alter their behavior according to how you play the game. 

Skater XL

Release Date: July 28, 2020

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Skater XL is a skateboarding game that has been early access since 2018. Now ready for a full release, it is launching across a variety of platforms. While it doesn’t feature the cutting edge graphics of other skateboarding games, it does concentrate on delivering a sophisticated and responsive control scheme that should make gameplay more exciting than ever before.

CastleStorm II

Release Date: July 31, 2020

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

CastleStorm II is another tower defense game coming in July. This title focuses on quirky characters, colorful visuals, and lots of content in the form of missions and challenges. It also features an expansive narrative and lots of different weapons to take advantage of.

Cat Quest + Cat Quest 2 Pawsome Pack

Release Date: July 31, 2020

Platforms: Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4

The Cat Quest + Cat Quest 2 Pawsome Pack is a collection of two open-world action role-playing games. Players can either be a dog or a cat as they adventure into a magical world that has been taken over by an evil force.
