$1,785 Death Stranding Jacket Sold Out Within a Few Hours

April 21, 2020

Acronym, a German technological clothing brand, together with Kojima Productions, has brought the jacket from Death Stranding to life. The first batch of jackets sold out in just a few hours, despite the prohibitive cost of $1,785.

Among others, Hideo Kojima, art director Yoji Shinkawa and Acronym co-founder Errolson Hugh had a hand in the design of the jacket. By the way, Errolson Hugh played the role of the weather station head in Death Stranding.

The basis for the model design was the first Acronym jacket – J1A, which the company worked on between 1999 and 2001.

It should be noted that the Acronym outfits can be seen during the game. For example, the vest, which the protagonist wears in the recreation room, was designed by Hugh. Of course, Kojima-san already received the new jacket shortly before Death Stranding came out.
