19 Minutes of Elden Ring Gameplay Footage Revealed

November 4, 2021

Elden Ring is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games in history, and players have been longing to see the actual gameplay. Today, Bandai Namco revealed about 19 minutes of footage that gives us our best look yet at this exciting title.

What did we learn from the video? First off, we get a closer look at the open-world design and interesting elements like the dynamic weather system. We also get a closer look at some of the foes you will be fighting in the game, including trolls, dragons, and other scary baddies.

The gameplay footage also appears to introduce some surprising combat elements, including random encounters with enemies and a seeming lack of fall damage. Most excitingly, the video shows different approaches to combat, allowing you to stealthily sneak around, wail on dragons with a sword, use powerful magic, and even summon other players to help you out.

Speaking of different approaches, the video also shows a Legacy Dungeon known as Stormveil Castle. Rather than being a completely linear experience, this dungeon offers multiple paths for players to achieve victory.

There are also quieter details in the footage. We see “sites of grace” where players can rest and restore their health. We also see brief examples of crafting and what looks to be the thrilling experience of tearing around the open world while riding a spirit horse.

If you’ve been waiting to get more details about the story of the game (which comes partially from the mind of George R.R. Martin), this video doesn’t give away many details. But it does show us an absolutely beautiful game with breathtaking designs, thrilling enemies, and killer combat.

A closed network test for Elden Ring will take place on Nov. 12–14. The game will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 25, 2022. Will you be checking it out? Let us know in the comments below!
