Bethesda Reveals New Indiana Jones Game

January 12, 2021

Bethesda has announced that it is working on an Indiana Jones game based on a brand new original story.

The game will take place separately from any of the four previously released movies as well as the upcoming fifth entry in the series that is scheduled to start shooting later this year.

MachineGames, the team responsible for the recent Wolfenstein titles, will lead development on the project. Todd Howard is set to act as executive producer on the game.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the Bethesda account also revealed that the project is part of a new partnership with the recently revived LucasFilm Games.

“It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal,” Bethesda wrote on Twitter, “but we’re very excited to share today’s news!”

The brief teaser trailer includes several references to the fictional archeologist, such as his signature hat and whip. The iconic theme music also plays at the end of the footage, leaving fans in little doubt as to what the trailer is about.

So far, there’s no word on when the Indiana Jones game will launch or on what platforms it will be available on. It is also unclear whether Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda will mean the title arrives on Xbox platforms first or as an exclusive release.
