Bethesda Teases Possible Elder Scrolls 6 Announcement

January 5, 2021

Bethesda has been teasing a new announcement about The Elder Scrolls, although it is not clear whether this is for The Elder Scrolls 6 or an existing title from the publisher.

On New Year’s Eve, the official Twitter account for the franchise posted an image that showed a map of Tamriel. This is the large continent that is home to areas such as Morrowind, Skyrim, Cyrodiil, and Hammerfell. This image was accompanied by the message: “Transcribe the past and map the future. Here’s to a Happy New Year!”

Without any extra information, fans are speculating that this could be a tease about The Elder Scrolls 6 or possibly even a future expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. The candles placed on the map are located in areas of Skyrim and Hammerfell, suggesting that the news will have something to do with the home of the Redguards.

There has been a distinct lack of information about The Elder Scrolls 6 since it was first announced by Bethesda. The publisher has not released any details about where the game is set or during what time period if will take place.

However, fans have spotted a number of small references to Hammerfell, making it a leading contender for where the sequel will largely focus on. There is currently no release date for The Elder Scrolls 6.
