Bokeh Game Studio has released a brand new video explaining what the newly formed studio aims to do in the next few years.
Studio boss Keiichiro Toyama speaks extensively in the video about his influences and suggests the team’s first game will take focus on the horror genre.
The fact that Bokeh Game Studio is seemingly working on a new horror title should not come as much of a surprise. Toyama is primarily known as one of the creative forces behind games like Silent Hill.
According to Toyama, he wants to make a new horror game because it allows developers to connect with players emotionally. It also gives the team an opportunity to challenge the way people act and live in their normal lives.
“You have these regular people driven into irrational situations,” he says. “They’re on the edge emotionally, while dealing with action or drama. This influenced me and I think it will show in my next game.”
“While keeping elements from horror, I want the player to feel exhilarated when playing the game. The view of horror I have is the everyday life being shaken. Rather than showing scary things, it should question our position, make us challenge the fact we’re living peacefully.”
