CD Projekt Red Offers Apology, Refunds for Cyberpunk 2077 Performance Issues

December 14, 2020

Players, streamers, and reviewers alike have called out graphics and performance issues with Cyberpunk 2077, particularly for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. Now, the developer is offering refunds while still urging players to wait for a patch.

Cyberpunk 2077 was the most hyped game of the year, and fans were initially excited that it would see a release in time for the holidays after being delayed several times. But now it appears the game should have been delayed further. Released last week, Cyberpunk 2077 has many issues across all platforms, with last-gen consoles seeing the worst of it. Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game have immense graphical issues including issues with framerate and rendering.

How bad have things gotten? Developer CD Projekt Red has tweeted an apology to fans and even given instructions on how to get a refund if they are disappointed.

Despite offering refunds, CD Projekt Red is asking disappointed players to be patient a little while longer. They promise a patch “within the next seven days,” with other major patches coming in January and February.

As for improvements, the devs are both optimistic and realistic. The tweet reads that the combined improvements “should fix the most prominent problems gamers are facing on last-gen consoles. They won’t make the game on last-gen look like it’s running on a high-spec PC or next-gen console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now.”

Still want a refund? CDPR advises you to make a request via retail store, Microsoft, or Sony depending on where you got your copy. If that doesn’t work, though, you have until December 21 to email [email protected] for refund assistance.
