Disney Teases New Star Wars Game Announcement on December 14

October 14, 2021

This week, Disney and Lucasfilm launched their “Bring Home the Bounty” event revealing a new Star Wars product every Tuesday through the end of the year, and it looks like a new Star Wars game might be revealed on Dec. 14.

Right now, info on such a game is about as sparse as the landscape of Tattooine. We simply know that the official Star Wars site has an icon for each “Bring Home the Bounty” week that serves to preview what the reveal for that week will be. Since the icon for Week 10’s Dec. 14 reveal is a video game controller, it stands to reason that the reveal could be a video game.

What has fans excited is that we already know about a major Star Wars game on the horizon: the Knights of the Old Republic remake that is headed to the PC and PS5. And we know about upcoming ports of older games to consoles, including physical copies of games like Jedi Outcast and Star Wars Racer.

By making a big deal about a “reveal,” though, Disney implies this will be a game that hasn’t been announced yet. Ubisoft is supposed to be working on an upcoming Star Wars game featuring open-world exploration. And there are rumors in the Force about a Star Wars game that will be directed by David Cage. Alternatively, it could be a sequel to an existing Star Wars property such as Fallen Order or something else altogether.

Regardless of the game announcement, the hype is back in the air for Star Wars thanks to the success of Disney+ shows like The Mandalorian and the more recent Star Wars: Visions. We just hope the new game has the quality of these awesome series rather than disappointing movies from the Sequel Trilogy.

What do you think the big announcement will be? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
