Gotham Knights Coming Just In Time For Halloween

March 9, 2022

With the critical and commercial success of The Batman, gamers are itching for a return to Gotham City. And they won’t have to wait long: Gotham Knights is coming out on October 25.

Originally, this title was set to come out in late 2021, but it needed a little more time in the oven to provide the best experience for gamers. Now, the October release date will bring this game to us as a nice pre-Halloween treat.

Or should that be “trick?” The premise of this game is that Batman has died and his extended Bat-family (including Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood) must step up and defend Gotham City from the usual array of criminals and supervillains along with new threats like The Court of Owls.

At first glance, this game’s plot may seem like a successor to Arkham Knight. After all, that game ends (holy spoilers, Batman!) with the apparent death of the Caped Crusader. However, Gotham Knights is being developed by WB Games Montreal.  Meanwhile, Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady Studios is hard at work making Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. That title was originally set to come out this year, but Bloomberg‘s Jason Schreier reports that it will be delayed until sometime in 2023.

So in terms of video games, Gotham Knights is likely as good as it gets this year for Batman fans. Are you excited to help Batman’s former sidekicks defend Gotham City? Let us know in the comments!
