Halo Infinite & Horizon Forbidden West Release Dates Confirmed

August 26, 2021

Are you looking forward to Halo Infinite or Horizon Forbidden West? Fortunately, these two hotly-anticipated games now have new release dates confirmed!

Halo Infinite has had delays before which kept it from being a launch title for the Xbox Series X|S. More recently, the game has been generally scheduled for the 2021 holiday season, but no street date was confirmed.

Now, after a leak let the cat out of the bag, Microsoft confirmed during the opening of Gamescom on Wednesday that Halo Infinite will release on December 8 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will be available on day one for Game Pass. Microsoft also revealed a new trailer.

Not all of the news is good, though. While Halo Infinite will launch with both its campaign and its online multiplayer features, the cooperative mode for the game as well as the popular Forge feature will not be available at launch.

Meanwhile, the PlayStation Blog announced that Horizon Forbidden West has been delayed to February 18, 2022 for the PS4 and PS5. It was originally scheduled for a Holiday 2021 release. Preorders start on September 2.

To help players who have been waiting for this title, you can now download a performance enhancement patch to play the PS4 version of Horizon Zero Dawn at 60 frames per second on the PS5.
