Marvel’s Spider Man Won’t Get a Free PS5 Upgrade

September 24, 2020

If you bought Marvel’s Spider Man and want to replay it on PlayStation 5, there is some bad news for you: the PlayStation 5 upgrade will cost you $20.

Previously, Insomniac Games confirmed that there won’t be any cross-save features between PS4 and PS5. Now it is clear why.

Nevertheless, you still can get the Miles Morales Ultimate Edition for PlayStation 4 and get the next-gen upgrade for free, but only for Miles Morales’ part. The original game will still need a paid upgrade. Sony gave the following statement to Kohaku:

“There are no plans currently to offer Marvel’s-Spider-Man: Remastered as a standalone. Players with a copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 can purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition to experience Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered on PS5. Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 also will be backwards compatible on PS5.”

Meanwhile, Microsoft is offering solutions to make next-gen upgrades free.
