The final trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade dropped today. And it gives us our best look yet at this PS5 exclusive title, including more of Yuffie and her struggles.
Intergrade is a bundle that includes both FF7 Remake and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission (new story content featuring Yuffie).
INTERmission centers entirely on Yuffie Kisaragi and her partner Sonon Kusakabe and what they were doing in Midgar before joining up with Cloud and his crew. This should be interesting for longtime franchise fans because in the original game, Yuffie only joined with Cloud long after they left Midgard behind.
But what are these characters actually doing in the big city? It looks like they are infiltrating a Shinra installation in order to have a confrontation with Shinra weapons guru Scarlet.
There are plenty of cool details hidden in the trailer. We get our first glimpse of the Ramuh summon and a look at a tactical mini-game based on (but very distinct from) the original Fort Condor mini-game.
Perhaps the strangest part of the trailer is our glimpse of Nero, a masked character who was a villain in the forgettable 2006 PS2 game Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. His presence may indicate that Square Enix wants to bring different elements of their shared FF7 universe together for this new generation of games.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will release exclusively on the PS5 on June 10. However, the exclusivity window is limited to six months, so don’t be surprised if you eventually see this bundle on other platforms.
