PlatinumGames has announced a superhero game with the working title of Project G.G. This will be its first self-published title. The game is headed by Hideki Kamiya, the director of Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, and Bayonetta. This is the second reveal of the Platinum 4 website that debuted in early February.
Project G.G. is the final part of the superhero trilogy from Kamiya. The first two were Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101. Don’t expect a plot connection — PlatinumGames calls Project G.G. a brand new intellectual property.
“Unlike any of the games we’ve made so far, it’s going to be a 100% PlatinumGames title,” Kamiya wrote on the Platinum 4 site. “For everything from its setting and characters, to its game design and story, to how it’s promoted – PlatinumGames is in full control.”
Project G.G. is being developed for all existing platforms. But the release is “still a long way away,” Kamiya wrote.
