The gameplayer trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is now here. And the trailer reveals that the mysterious character the developers have been teasing is an interdimensional female Lombax named Rivet.
In this trailer, we see Emperor Nefarious opening a portal to another dimension. He insists that this is a dimension where he will “always win.” This is the same dimension that Rivet hails from.
Beyond that, the trailer mostly focuses on Rivet meeting Clank and treating him like a companion. And it looks like players can control either character as they navigate some very ambitiously large environments in this dark dimension.
We don’t know much else right now about Rivet aside from the fact that alternate suits will be available to her as part of the Digital Deluxe upgrade.
Later this week, Sony is giving a State of Play presentation that focuses primarily on Ratchet & Clank and will offer 15 minutes of new gameplay footage. The livestream will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on June 11.
