Rockstar Is Giving a Free Game to PC Owners of GTA Definitive Edition

December 21, 2021

From terrible graphics to insane glitches, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has had one of the most troubled launches in video game history. Now, Rockstar is trying to make things right for PC owners of that title by offering them a free game.

Strictly speaking, this is Rockstar’s second attempt at soothing customers’ feelings. Those who bought the Definitive Edition on PC were gifted PC versions of the original GTA games in response to fan outcry over those titles being yanked from the launcher (not to mention major problems with the launcher itself).

Now, though, they are going one step further and offering a free game to PC players who purchased the Definitive Edition. Until January 5, 2022, such players can get one of the following titles for free at Rockstar’s official site here:

  • Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition
  • Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
  • Max Payne 3
  • L.A Noire
  • Bully: Scholarship Edition

What if you already have these titles, or you simply don’t want any of them? In that case, you can get either 55 gold bars in Red Dead Online or a Great White Shark card in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Do you think a free game is a sufficient apology for the botched Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, or is this too little, too late? Let us know in the comments!
