Final Fantasy XVI is “coming sooner than people think,” according to industry insider Jason Schreier. That what he says on the latest Triple Click podcast. He also revealed that Square Enix has been working on Final Fantasy XVI “for at least four years in some capacity.”
We don’t know much about the game yet, but it’s clear that the series will return to the Middle Ages for the first time in years. Furthermore, the combat system will become much more dynamic. That’s because Ryōta Suzuki, one of the designers of Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma, is working on it.
Officially, Final Fantasy XVI has only been confirmed for PlayStation 5, but the JRPG is expected to come to PC in the future. When the game will be released, however, is not clear yet.
