Sony Invests $250M in Epic Games

Sony has decided to invest $250 million in Epic Games, it was announced on Thursday. The Fortnite company has now raised $1.83 billion to date.

According to both companies, this will strengthen their already warm relationship, as well as expand cooperation. However, the specifics are not yet disclosed.


It is emphasized that although Sony now owns a minority stake of Epic Games (1.4%), developers will still be able to release their products on other platforms.

Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida says that Epic Games is at the cutting edge of technology for game developers, which confirms the capabilities and flexibility of Fortnite.
