During the NFL AFC Championship game on Sunday, Paramount+ dropped the Halo TV series trailer we’ve been waiting for!
At first glance, many of the familiar Halo trappings are there. We get to see Master Chief and Cortana as well as familiar sights such as the Covenant, the Energy Sword, and a character that some eagle-eyed fans are convinced might be the Arbiter.
For better or for worse, the storyline looks like it will be very simplistic. In fact, Master Chief condenses it to a convenient tagline: “Find the Halo, win the war.” But there will likely be deviations from the story as we know it, with 343 previously commenting that this TV show will exist in its own, separate timeline.
In the trailer, we get glimpses of things like other Spartans (without helmets, no less), the development of Cortana (who has a new look), and an ominous statement about how easily the USNC can “control” Master Chief. Overall, it looks like this will be a character-centric story that digs into what makes Chief and Cortana tick even as they race to save humanity.
The Halo TV series begins streaming on March 24 via Paramount+. It stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television.
