TGS is usually an announcement place for major Japanese publishers and developers. For example, Sony arranged its conference there. This year’s Tokyo Game Show was supposed to do some kind of nextgen presentation — perhaps that’s what they’re going to do online.

Recall that E3 has also been cancelled this year. It was also temporarily planned to head online but then this idea was abandoned. Nevertheless, the idea of online show was picked up by IGN, Gamesradar and others.
