Microsoft will make next-gen games available on Xbox One via Xbox Cloud Gaming, the streaming service that powers Xbox Game Pass on mobile devices and tablets.
Speaking in a blog post, Microsoft confirmed the move, saying it will allow the millions of Xbox One players to play next-gen games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Redfall.
“For the millions of people who play on Xbox One consoles today, we are looking forward to sharing more about how we will bring many of these next-gen games, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, to your console through Xbox Cloud Gaming, just like we do with mobile devices, tablets, and browsers,” Microsoft said.
Exactly how the process will work has not been made clear. Users will likely need a fast and stable internet connection and may also have to pay a subscription cost for Xbox Game Pass in order to get access to the cloud service.
