Recently, 2K added unskippable ads to NBA 2K21 and fell out of gamers’ favor. On Tuesday, the company decided to apologize. According to their Twitter account, the ad placement happened “in a way we didn’t intend.”
They explained that the ads “are not meant to run as part of the pre-game introduction” and the issue “will be fixed in future episodes.”

Reddit users weren’t happy about this apology. Some say that such ads were also shown in NBA 2K20 a couple months before the launch of NBA 2K20. This time, the scandal reached the press and users claim 2K apologized just because they are going to launch the same game for $10 more soon and don’t want any negative attention.
