Marvel’s Avengers Tachyon Anomaly Event Kicks Off April 22

April 16, 2021

Last month, we got a good look at the long-term plans for Marvel’s Avengers game during the Square Enix Presents livestream. And one of the biggest events for Marvel’s Avengers is starting next week.

The Tachyon Anomaly Event starting on Thursday, April 22 will allow players to do something many have been dreaming of. They will finally be able to create teams made up entirely of the same character.

This applies to online matchmaking as well. It’s possible you could take your Captain America into online battle alongside three other players rocking the red, white, and blue. But there is a time limit for this kind of fun: the Tachyon Anomaly Event only runs until May 3.

As an incentive for players to join in on the fun, there will be weekly mission chains that offer special Hivemind gear. This is on top of other cool loot you can receive as part of some special daily missions.

Don’t worry if you are relatively new to the game. The Tachyon Anomaly Avent is open to players level 1–100. Lower-level players can get a big boost from the special cosmic-level event gear that helps characters regain health. This is invaluable against some of those tougher enemies and bosses.

Finally, fans of certain characters can buy hero-centric nameplates in the marketplace. From April 22–29, fans can buy nameplates for Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Hulk. And from April 29-May 6, nameplates will be available for Iron Man, Captain America, Ms. Marvel, and my favorite hero, Kate Bishop.

The Tachyon Anomaly Event is the first major event in what looks like a year of cool content. In the coming months, players can check out a Red Room Takeover event and a Cosmic Cube event on top of a cool Patrol mode similar to the patrols in Destiny 2.

Check out the timeline of events in Marvel’s Avengers 2021 content roadmap below.

There is no doubt this is a lot of cool content for gamers and Marvel fans alike. But the jury is still out on whether this will be enough to bring in many new players or lure back players who previously walked away from the game.
